Round 2 - Lake Taupo, Taupo

Round 1 - Kinloch, Lake Taupo
Round One of the North Island Winter Series kicks off on the 2nd July at Kinloch, Lake Taupo. Following are details of the days event:
Greetings All 2011 Winter Tour Competitors
Welcome to the Demon Energy Challenge.
Below are some more details regarding Round 1 of the 2011 North Island Winter Tour Series.
Please note that NO craft are to enter the water until Didymo Dave has spoken to you regarding your Ski and it has been Scruitinerred.
Remember this includes all your riding gear as well. As part of local governance, re protection of our lakes, we have to ensure that we do not spread any form of foreign weeds to the lakes we use. Didymo Dave will be on station at 8am for all you early birds OK.
Event Timetable
- 8am to 10.30am Doc operation with Didymo Dave, it is COMPULSORY that you are inspected by Didymo Dave, before you move into the next stage
- 9am to 10.30am Sign in & Scruitinerring
- 10.30am to 10.45am Roll Call & Riders Briefing
- 10.45am Harbour Master & Didymo Dave conclusion
- 11am to 11.30am 1st Pole Ski Race = 25mins + a lap,
- 11.45am to 12.35pm 1st Runabout Race = 50mins + a lap
- 12.45pm to 1.15pm 2nd Pole Ski Race = 25mins + a lap
- 1.25pm to 2.15pm 2nd Runabout Race = 50mins + a lap
Please NOTE we only have Speed Uplifting from 8.30am till 3pm, so normal 5 knots 200m from shore and 50m between vessels, from 3pm onwards.
Classes are as below:

2. Runabout Stock, combined with Naturally Aspirated
3. Runabout Open
4. Iron Man
5. Line Honours
6. Pole Ski
Pole Ski Class
Pole Ski competitors are requested to have their boats in the pits, with all their race gear ready prior to Riders Briefing, to allow organisers the upmost opportunity to get the ball rolling on time please.
Entry Form
The Series Entry Forms will be released in the next week, BUT Round 1 will be an enter on the day scenario.
We ask that all competitors competing at round 1, fill in their paperwork prior to leaving for this event, so as to make sign in a much faster process.
Please understand that sign in at these events, is one of the biggest hold ups in the sport, so please assist us in making things run to program please.
1st Timers
Your Entry and Day licence are free for your 1st ever race, if you race at Round 2, you are required to purchase a Winter Tour Race Licence and pay the normal fees.
Your entry on the day at Kinloch will be treated as a 1st Timer and you will be given a separate briefing after the main briefing to ensure you are up to speed on everything and are happy with what is happening.
