Results
For those of you that attended the 2010 Woodbine Marine Seadoo BRP New Zealand Jet Sport Nationals, I trust you all enjoyed the event. The comments being passed around it seem to indicate that everyone had a great time. From the AJSA’s perspective the event ran very smoothly thankfully there were no major hiccups.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank those that helped make the event a huge success. Firstly, Steve Beasley, who made a massive contribution and started coordinating required gear in the weeks prior to the event. The lap scorers, Erica Holt, Meg Webb, Jenny MacKay, Zara Hawkins, Mel Carstairs, Jude Carstairs, Natalie Lyons and Rowan Burt. Peg Girls Diane Daly, Amber and Lucy. The Marshalls, led by Murray Holdaway, James, Bill, George, Pete, Lant, Bob, Lyndon, and Mike. Steve Ellis, for the race directing, along with Lisa Dermott and Russell Westbrooke assisting. Garth Simonsen for taking on the Tech inspecting of skis. Helen Evans and Donna Hyslop for looking after the VIP tent. John Wright’s crew of lads for helping out and assisting Steve Beasley. Norm McFarlane on the microphone. Finally the AJSA committee for all the effort put in over the last year and at the event. Hopefully I haven’t missed anyone.

Event Information
- The 2010 NZ Jet Sport Nationals will run in accordance with the 2009 IJSBA Rule Book incorporating any regulations and supplementary rules set down by the NZJSBA. For more information on this please contact Lisa Dermott, NZJSBA President, by email on nzjsba@xtra.co.nz or alternatively 0274 318419.
- Vehicles and Trailers are to be parked in a designated area at all times. This area is the paddock reserve behind the main race site. Access to this is on the main road approaching the race site from Rotorua.
- Skis will need to be launched and recovered in the designated area before and after each race using a trolley or tote. NO ATVs or Quad Bikes will be allowed for launching and retrieving skis.
- There is absolutely NO refuelling of skis on or near the water. Refuelling is restricted to the pit area away from the water’s edge.
- Overnight security has been arranged for Friday and Saturday nights to ensure the protection of any equipment you may choose to leave at the race venue. All equipment must be removed on Sunday night.
- On site catering will be available throughout the weekend – further information is on the next page.
- Easy-Up sites will are available. These will be situated at the back of the pit area. Please Note: Due to Rotorua District council regulations - No 'Easy-Up' can be larger than 20m2. Anything larger you will be asked to take it down.
- The site will be open on Friday 13th March from 2:30pm for competitors to set up their sites, register, and get scrutineered.
- The course will NOT be open on Friday afternoon for practice. There will be “policed tuning sessions” out the back of the lake from 3pm. You will be requried to abide by all nomal Maratime laws (except for the 200m from shore ruling) during this session. Please see the following page for more information.
Race Numbers
Please note: All licensed NZJSBA members from 1st November 2010 were advised as to the correct sign writing of race numbers on their skis. The AJSA would like to remind everyone that if you do not conform to the rulings laid down regarding the sign writing of numbers then you either risk not being scored correctly or you will be turned away at scrutineering.
As per the rule book, you race number must appear on the ski as follows:
- Numbers must be at least 200mm high when viewed from a horizontal plane
- Numbers must be black
- Numbers must be on a white background
- Numbers must be on a/the flat, most forward, part of the ski.
A check of whether you conform to these standard will be part of the scrutineering process at this years Nationals. Please ensure that you have check your numbers and if in doubt just ask a NZJSBA executive.
Friday Program
All competitors will need to complete registration and scrutineering on Friday 12th March. There will be no late registration / scrutineering session on the Saturday morning. The race site will open at 2:30pm for competitors to enter and set up their sites. Registration and scrutineering will begin then as well. PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP BEFORE THEN AS YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY.

Tuning Sessions
The Track will not be open for look laps on the Friday. These will take place on Satuday morning. We will, however, have policed tuning session’s out the back of the track. This will happen from 3pm – 6pm.
- NO SKIS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE WATER UNTIL THEY ARE REGISTERED & SCRUTINEERED.
- ALL RIDERS MUST ABIDE BY MARATIME LAW EXCEPT FOR BEING 200M FROM THE SHORE.
- ANYONE BREAKING THESE RULES WILL BE DEDUCTED POINTS OR DISSALLOWED TO RACE.
